The STMA Knights were in action on Thursday evening in Wayzata. The Knights struggled mightily in the first four innings in the field and at the plate and the Trojans jumped out to a four run lead. In the fifth inning is when the Knights rally started. Cody Kelly drove in Jared Duda and Dylan Hanson with a two out single to cut the Wayzata lead in half. In the sixth inning Kale Hoselton led off the inning with a walk. Luc Laylin and Eric Fouquette reached base with a bunt and Hoselton scored on a throwing error. The Knights only managed one run in the sixth though to make the score 4-3 Wayzata. The top of the seventh started with a Boston Merila double and Cody Kelly drove in pinch runner John Gerards with a triple to tie the game. Kelly later scored on a wild pitch and the Knights were now in front 5-4. Will Anderson didn’t have his best stuff today, but he battled through it and shut down the Trojans in the final three innings to pick up the victory. STMA now sits at 14-3 on the season and will host the Monticello Magic on Tuesday afternoon for staff appreciation day at 4:30.
