The STMA Knights traveled to Monticello take on the Magic on Tuesday afternoon. After a long day of baseball, the Knights split the doubleheader with the Magic losing the first game 6-5 and taking the nightcap 7-4. STMA got out to a hot start in the first game putting up three runs and shutting down the Magic at the plate. It wasn’t until the bottom of the fourth when Monticello broke out and started putting runs on the board. The Magic put up six runs in the bottom of the fourth inning that led them to victory. Marcus Krupke was 3-4 with two RBI in the loss for the Knights.
In game two it didn’t start out how the Knights would’ve liked as the Magic put up two early runs in the top half of the first inning, but Kolby Gartner settled in after that and pitched very well for STMA. Marcus Krupke led the charge again at the plate for the Knights. M. Krupke was 2-3 with three RBI. Cody Kelly also drove in two runs for the Knights. STMA improves to 12-2 overall on the season and 8-1 in the Mississippi 8 Conference. The Knights will return on Thursday for a doubleheader against the Rogers Royals for Parent’s and Senior Knight.
