In the section championship game last night, the girls basketball team built an early 10-4 lead before the Crimson of Maple Grove went on a 10-3 run to erase the deficit and take a 14-13 lead. The rest of the game, the two teams would exchange baskets with the biggest margin being three through 36 minutes of basketball. At halftime, the Crimson held a 25-24 lead. At the end of regulation the score was tied at 50. The Crimson scored the first 5 points in overtime to take their biggest lead of the game and pull out a 59-56 win. In all, there were 21 lead changes and 14 ties throughout the game. Although the Knights suffered the loss, it was a hard fought game by both teams. Kenzie Kramer led the Knights offensively in the second half and overtime, finishing with 17 points. Jadyn Hanson scored 14 first half points. Together, Hanson and Kramer combined for 10 rebounds, 6 steals, and 4 assists. Kendal Cox led the rebounds with 7. She also scored 10 points. Vanessa Alexander had 5 points and 4 rebounds. Whitney Dold had another big game defensively, including a steal and layup to tie the game at 50 at the end of regulation. She finished the game with 3 steals and 4 points. The Knights end the season with a 25-4 record and so much to be proud off!
