The girls basketball team win their 65th consecutive Mississippi 8 game and kept control of the traveling trophy after beating Rogers Friday night. The Knights came out on fire and held a 37-15 lead with 8 minutes remaining in the first half. The Royals then went on a 16-4 run to cut the lead to 42-31 at halftime. The Knights scored first in the second half and eventually built a 67-40 lead. Like the first half, the Royals made another run, but the deficit was too much and the Knights won, 73-58. Kenzie Kramer had a hot hand, making good on 10 of 12 attempts from the field. She finished with 25 points, 5 rebounds, 3 assists, and 3 steals. Vanessa Alexander posted a double-double with 11 points and 10 rebounds. Jadyn Hanson scored 15 points and dished out 4 assists. Kendal Cox rounded out the balanced scoring with 12 points. She also had 6 rebounds and 4 assists. Whitney Dold had another good game defensively; she had 4 rebounds, 2 blocks, and 2 steals. The Knights finish the regular season with a 23-3 record.
The girls got the #1 seed in Section 8AAAA and will host #8 St. Cloud Tech tomorrow at 7 p.m.
