The girls basketball team traveled to Chisago Lakes last night and beat the Wildcats at all levels. In the varsity game the Knights took control early jumping out to a 19-4 lead. They maintained momentum throughout the first half, frustrating the Wildcats with intense defense and connecting on 8/13 shots from behind the arc. At halftime they held a 34-17 advantage. The Wildcats scored the first five points of the second half before the Knights went on a 10-0 run to build a 20 point lead. The Wildcats switched up their defense and rattled the Knights, forcing turnovers and bad shots. With 5 mins to go in the game, they had closed the gap to 10 (51-41). In the final minutes, the Knights outscored the Wildcats 11-4 and posted a 62-45 win. Kenzie Kramer led all scorers with 24 points. She had 5 rebounds and 3 steals to go along with it. Jadyn Hanson scored 15 points, had 6 rebounds, 4 steals, and 3 assists. Kendal Cox scored 9 points and led the rebounding column with 9. Whitney Dold and Vanessa Alexander did a great job on the Wildcat’s Wisconsin recruit, holding her 6 points under her season average. The Knights look to get their 20th win of the season on Saturday when they host Elk River!
