Multiple Teams · Knights Stay Alive

The STMA Knights needed two wins on a hot Saturday afternoon to stay alive in the Section 8AAAA Playoffs and that’s exactly what they did. The Knights defeated Elk River 15-7 in the first game of the afternoon. Cody Kelly, Nick Dinkel, and Travis Brown combined for ten hits and eight runs batted in. Ethan Knutson started on the mound and picked up the win. Knutson pitched 6 1/3 innings, allowed three earned runs and struck out three Elk River hitters.

In game two, STMA took on Mississippi 8 Conference rival Buffalo and defeated the Bison 12-2 in five innings. Alex Wilde, Travis Brown, Jack Kelly, and Cody Kelly combined for seven hits and eight RBI. Marcus Krupke pitched a complete game for the Knights. Krupke pitched five innings, allowed one earned run and struck out seven Bison hitters. The Knights will travel to Cold Spring on Tuesday afternoon where they will play Brainerd at 6:00 pm.
