    • Tuesday         3:30-5:30
    • Wednesday    8:00-10:00AM
  • We will be selecting about 20 players. We are anticipating 30-40 players trying out. We will meet with each player at the end of practice Wednesday to let them know if they made the team. We will wait until later to make final decisions about A and B team. Each team will have about 10 players. We will evaluate players during drills and scrimmages on the following skills.
    • Athleticism
    • Defending
    • Shooting
    • Rebounding
    • Ball Handling
    • Coachability
    • Passing and Court Awareness
    • Hustle
    • Team Play
  • Once a player makes the team he will receive a schedule and a jersey for the season. We will not practice Thursday or Friday of Thanksgiving week but we will practice from 3:30-5:30 the following week. On Monday, December 3rd we will practice from 2-3:30 since there is no school.
  • The game schedule is posted on the STMAKNIGHTS.com or Mississippi 8 website. Freshman games start at 4:15. Players should ride the bus to and from away games. There will usually be a bus that goes back early to take 9th and 10th graders home if they are not able to stay for the varsity game. Players do have the option to stay and ride home with the varsity. Players will begin warmups at 3:30 for home games.
  • Playing time may not be equal and is based on attendance, effort, and ability. Players are expected to attend every practice and game. If a player has a conflict or illness please contact me ahead of time. We will have very high standards for work ethic and player conduct both on and off the court. Since it is so competitive to participate in our high school basketball program, we expect the very best from our players. Players who do not meet these standards will have reduced playing time or removal from the team.
