Boys Junior Varsity Cross Country, Boys Varsity Cross Country · Boy’s Cross Country Qualifies Two for State Meet

The boys and girls cross country teams both competed Thursday, October 27th at the MSHSL Section 5AA meet. As a team, the Knight’s finished 4th out of 16 schools in the section behind teams from Maple Grove, Mounds View, and Centennial. While the team did not qualify to run at the state meet next Saturday, two individuals punched their well-deserved tickets to St. Olaf.

As they have for every meet this year, sophomore Jonah Breuer and senior Alex Wolseth led the Knights at their Section 5AA cross country meet. Breuer was the first finisher for STMA in 9th place and a personal record time of 16:23. Wolseth came through shortly after in 17th place and a personal record time of 16:40 to grab the last individual qualifier spot. The rest of the boy’s varsity team ran personal records as well including Carter Knaus (20th-16:45), Joey Och (35th-17:15), Jack Peterson (56th-17:49), Tyler Bartholomew (63rd-17:57), and Luke Peterson (66th-18:00).

Next up for Jonah and Alex is the MSHSL State Cross Country Meet on Saturday, November 5th at St. Olaf College in Northfield. They will be competing at 1:00 pm in the AA Boy’s Race.
